The Color of Our Sky

Details: Mukta, a ten-year-old country girl from the lower caste Yellama cult, has reached puberty and must follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother by becoming a temple prostitute. Mukta is sent to work as a house girl for an upper-middle-class family in Mumbai in order to avoid her fate. There, she meets a friend in the family's daughter, high-spirited eight-year-old Tara, who helps her heal from her past scars.
