Details:  Maddie Sykes, a budding seamstress, has recently relocated to Bright Leaf, North Carolina, the region's tobacco capital, where her aunt runs a successful sewing business. Maddie is mesmerized by the bustle of the neatly uniformed female factory workers, the opulent homes, and, most of all, her aunt's glossiest clientele: the wives of the powerful tobacco executives.
